While Dr. Kamal Vatta, Director shared insightful learning experiences from CIPT’s SAFAL agricultural interventions in Jharkhand, India; Dr. Phub Dorji, President of CNR also shared CNR’s initiative on organic farming in 20 acres of area in Bhutan. The discussion was concluded by Dr. Sonam Tashi, Dean Academic Affairs by expressing a keen interest in working with CIPT. The deans and faculty members from various departments of CNR also participated in this conference.
Dr. Kamal Vatta and Mr. Sandeep Dikshit also conducted group discussions with farmer communities in Japhu and Phubjikhao village in Rubesa Geon/ block and two other villages in Paro Valley. They interacted with both men and women to understand their local agricultural practices and issues, and also to explore opportunities for initiating floriculture interventions in the Bhutan region.
